Coffee Shop Post #9
It feels wonderful to be back at the keyboard reading through The Fifth Floor’s sequel as revisions and rewrites get underway as I sip on a cafe latte and enjoy an oatmeal steamer.
I received critiques from my first readers, so today I'm reading through suggestions and comments. I was at a writing conference a couple of months ago and one of the speakers commented on the importance of every critique. She went on to explain. If eight of your ten readers makes a suggestion on a particular section of your manuscript consider their suggestion diligently because they represent 80% of your readers, but do not overlook a suggestion made by only one reader because that one reader represents 10% of your future readers. Good point because lets face it, it's unlikely to appease every reader, but every reader deserves consideration.
