Coffee Shop Post #7
A welcome interlude from my second novel while it's being read by my first readers continues. It was very difficult to hand over a manuscript that took 5½ months at 8 hours a day to write. I've never smoked, but I imagine it feels much like quitting cold turkey after years of puffing on cigarettes. I've been tempted several times in the last two weeks to nonchalantly stroke that certain key on the computer's keypad that would bring my manuscript to life, right in front of my glaring eyes. However, I'm holding back from doing so at my editor's request. Instead, I'm letting The Fifth Floor's sequel simmer until I hear back from my first draft readers. Then, I'll be off and running again. But for now, breakfast with friends is a delicious substitute.
